Metamodeling Approach for the Design of Cyber-Physical Systems
Existing metamodels cannot effectively capture the properties of multidimensional cyber-physical domains. To contribute to this area, a new metamodeling approach for designing cyber-physical systems is proposed. An additional level of the metamodeling architecture is introduced, allowing the development of metamodels with different mathematical semantics. To prove the concept, a geometrical meta-metamodel, which allows us to link physical properties of multidimensional domains with its spatial structure, is proposed. Investigation, modeling, design and implementation of cyber-physical systems must be considered as new and essential parts of computer science.

Vitaliy Mezhuyev received BS and MS degrees in physics and informatics from Berdyansk State Pedagogical University (BSPU), Ukraine, in 1997. In 2002, he received a Ph.D. in Physics and Teaching Physics from Kiev National Pedagogical University and, in 2012, a Sc.D. in Information Technologies from Odessa National Technical University, Ukraine. Starting in 2004, he has been Head of the Department of Informatics and Software Engineering at BSPU. Now he is visiting professor in University Malaysia Pahang. His current research interests include model-driven software engineering, metamodeling, and the design of cyber-physical systems. Vitaliy Mezhuyev is a member of ACM from 2007. He became a member of IACSIT at 2014.
